Brand history

Karl Anderson Jr., aka Michael Kors, was born in 1959 in New York
When the designer was two years old, his mother Joan Krystosek, a former Revlon model, divorced his father Carl Anderson Sr. and remarried entrepreneur Bill Kors. Carl subsequently took his stepfather's last name and changed his name to Michael David. As he later told People magazine: “My mother told me: since you’re changing your last name, why don’t you choose a different name?”
