Brand history

Jeanne Lanvin was born in 1867 and she began her career as a milliner
The first hat boutique opened in 1889 on Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré in the prestigious 8th arrondissement of Paris. After 8 years, she gave birth to a daughter, Margarett, with whom she developed a close relationship - she became a muse, the center of the Universe for her mother. So, for one ball she created identical dresses for herself and Margaret. Zhanna's friends admired their outfits and asked to sew similar ones for their daughters. In 1908, the Lanvin children's line appeared.

The love for Margarette became the driving force and could be seen in every collection. This is how the illustration of mother and daughter appeared - as a distinctive sign of the Lanvin house. Jeanne was the first to launch children's fashion, sell a ready-to-wear line of men's suits, and launch a fragrance mix as a separate line in 1933.

The traditions of the house have been continued since 2019 by designer Bruno Sialelli, who worked for Loewe, Balenciaga and Paco Rabanne.
