Brand history

Kenzo studied at the Japanese Institute of Design and Fashion in Tokyo
The brand was founded by Takada Kenzo in 1970. Kenzo studied at the Japan Institute of Design and Fashion in Tokyo - he was the first man to receive permission to study there. In Tokyo, Kenzo made money by painting shop windows and creating sketches for a fashion magazine. In Paris, Kenzo opened his first boutique and called it Jungle Jap (“Jungle Jap”). Kenzo sold clothes straight from the catwalk, and not six months after the release of the collection.
