Caramel & Cie

Brand history

French ethical brand of school backpacks, bags and pencil cases on the market since 2015
Creator and designer, Rafaela Garcia has been creating outfits for dolls and masks for her brother since childhood. She studied to become a designer at a prestigious design school in Caracas, Venezuela and then at the French school of industrial creativity (11th arrondissement of Paris). When her son Adrian started school, Rafaela spent a long time looking for a comfortable and beautiful school backpack for him. But there was nothing like it on the market, so she decided to create her own backpack. After testing the possibility of production in Vietnam (Rafaela already had a clothing brand for children), the first school bag, Caramel & Cie, was born. Today, the brand's products are presented in more than 350 stores in Europe, America, and Africa Caramelo was the name of Rafaela's dog in Caracas, a small stray dog she found when she was 8 years old. He was very funny, always doing stupid things, and it was these memories and emotions of her childhood, full of laughter, colors and joy, that inspired Rafaela to create Caramel & cie
